Check out #osfest18 performers The Seagulls
Leeds based psyche-pop surf rockers The Seagulls comprise of brothers Dom (vocals/guitar), Jon (guitar/vocals) & Nick Richmond (keys/vocals) with Alex Fells (bass/vocals) and Sam Wainwright (Drums/vocals). The brothers spent their younger years collaborating and performing around Birmingham in several different outfits and projects before meeting Sam and Alex in 2010 at University in Leeds, where the band now base themselves. Their sound, labelled by fans as ‘Tropical Pop’, combines sixties inspired guitar hooks and stylistic attitude echoing early Brit-pop and psychedelic influences. They made their debut LP in 2015 with ‘Desert Eleven’ recorded and produced by the band at their own home studio. In 2017 the band went on to release the critically acclaimed follow up ‘Blood Orange’ produced by themselves before heading off on a 10 date UK tour.
“You really need to see their live show! Definitely ones to watch for 2017.” Dermot O’Leary – BBC Radio 2.
“A great live band, I predict these guys will be playing the big festivals next year” Alan Raw – BBC Introducing
“Surf-rockers The Seagulls delve into their 60s-indebted psych-pop sound with all the sincerity of Ty Segall or The Coral at their best: there’s no ironic mining of the past here. Latest single ‘Happy’ is a swaggering ear-worm that promises good things from the band’s incoming second album, ‘Blood Orange’.” – Birmingham Wire
The Seagulls will be performing at #osfest18 this summer 🙂
